Did you know that soldiers and airmen at one military installation can agree to "swap" assignments with a soldier or airman at another installation, as long as it doesn't cost the government any money? (About.com)
If military members have this opportunity why not the civilian work force?
Military members are also welcome!
This site is established to help facilitate the job swap process, by bringing two interested parties together.
With high gas prices, negative environmental impacts and vehicle maintenance costs, shorten your commute and work closer to home.
Use the blog to get started. Provide your information for someone interested in this possibility.
Details
- Both individuals must agree to the swap, the swap must be for the same type job, with similar benefits, compensation etc., and individuals must be similarly qualified. (Click Here for a Sample Contract).
Exchanges can be within the same city, state or within the Continental United States or even global.
- The Supervisors/Hiring Managers of both individual workers concerned must concur with the proposed job exchange, and agree on the date of the swap.
- Individuals must be able to prove that their position is stable and have assurances from each supervisor/hiring manager that the job will remain stable for at least 12 months.
- Individuals will pay all costs incurred for relocation. In many cases this job move will not involve relocation to another state or city. This swap can shorten or eliminate the need for a longer commute to another nearby city or a distant commute in the local city area.
